Pin Cushion
| 27 July, 2010
Following yesterday’s accident my bum looks like a pin cushion – not amused! Mum recommended that I applied some antiseptic cream onto the affected area to prevent the wounds from getting infected. What she failed to tell me was that it would sting (a lot!).
Had to do my paper round on foot this morning keeping a lookout for the careless driver. Not a dicky bird. If I ever catch up with the driver he will get a piece of my mind and my Southport stance!!
Thorny Issue
| 26 July, 2010
Some complete idiot ran me off the road while I was doing my paper round this morning!
The car veered into me as it was turning a corner and I was forced to take evasive action hitting the kerb and flying over the handlebars before landing in Mrs Green’s (very prickly) rose bush. Apart from having to retrieve rose thorns from my bum I’m ok, but my bike is completely wrecked. I expected the driver to stop and see if I was alright, but the selfish pig just drove off and left me. Good job I was wearing a helmet though – could’ve been really nasty! Anyway, must go now as I’ve just discovered some more thorns since I’ve been sitting down (ouch!).
Olympic Dreams
| 23 July, 2010
I bet that there are young athletes all over the country dreaming of competing in the 2012 Olympics in the UK. I know that I am. If I can keep focused I am definitely in with a shot at representing Britain in boxing. I guess that I must sound like a right big-head? Well as my coach tells me, ‘If you don’t believe in yourself, then nobody else will.’
And on that note, I’m off to do some training. After all, self-belief and a positive mental attitude can only get you so far in this game. bfn Charlie

Beach Football
|
Even though the weather has been awful the distinct lack of footie on the box and no school means that summer is definitely here. I say that there’s no football on television but I watched a great beach football tournament over the weekend. Kung Fu Cantona was strutting his stuff on the sidelines (I miss characters like him being in the premiership) and the skills on the sand were awesome! I tried training on a beach when I went on holiday last year and it’s much tougher than doing the same workout on a solid surface. The players in the tournament must be super fit! While the soft surface may test the stamina it enabled the players to perform every type of scissor, overhead and banana kick in the book. As you’d expect the players from Brazil showboated their entire repertoire of gravity-defying moves much to the delight of the crowd. Anyway, must dash, Albinus and I are off to the kiddies sand pit on the park to practise some phat football manoeuvres! Later … C
