Saved!

| 4 December, 2010

I stumbled across a gem of a site last night called www.half-pricebooks.co.uk. It has loads of really cool books at a fraction of the normal price. It’s helped me to sort out nearly all of my shopping without leaving the house – result! Still got to wrap the suckers, but you can’t have everything I suppose.

This leaves me with more time to focus on the truly important things in life, like football, friends, family and spending some quality time with my X-Box (hope you got my games list Santa!!).

Did I mention that Mitzi said that there were three people in our relationship the other day? Me, her and my games console! She followed this up by asking me to choose between her and the offending machine. Apparently, it’s not acceptable to say that ‘you are both irreplaceable’ by way of a reply (the apology flowers from the local garage didn’t help much either – another £2.99 down the drain!).

Catch you all later, Charlie.

Christmas Shopping

3 December, 2010

Tis’ the season to be merry, or so the song goes, but I can’t help feeling a bit stressed at the moment. The reason for my trauma I hear you ask … Christmas shopping! Now I can’t stick shopping at the best of times, but when you combine the experience with crowds, gaudy decorations and a long list of gifts to buy, shopping quickly gains nightmare status in my book. For all of these reasons, I’ve decided to do my festive shopping online this year (with a little help from Dad’s credit card). I’ll let you know how I get on.

Great to receive some positive feedback on the new Bridgewood song. I am confident that with the support of our fans we can make it to the top of the league in no time at all. Best C

Bridgewood High 1–1 St John’s College

|

Mr Mansell reporting from St John’s College.

A frustrated Bridgewood High could only manage a draw on a bitterly cold day.

The supporters shivered on the touchline as Bridgewood High braced the freezing gusts of wind and hail with a steely resolve. Unfortunately, St John’s quickly upset Bridgewood’s rhythm with dangerous tackling. By half time both Dermott Riley and Hamit Erbakan had been booked for protesting about St John’s unsporting behaviour and deliberate fouling.

The second half was as scrappy as the first, made worse when St John’s scored a lucky goal that went against the run of play. Despite periods of good possession, Bridgewood made a lot of unforced errors. If it were not for England trialists, Charlie Oakley and Sam Smith, the team would have conceded at least three further goals. Keeping cool heads, whilst their teammates were losing theirs, Oakley and Smith marshalled the defence long enough for Albiunus Gardiner to bring the scores level with a powerful, long-range shot that swerved and dipped into the net. The scores remained level until the ref blue the final whistle.

Bridgewood must do better or the league title will be out of their reach.
